Chihiro MURATA
村田千紘
東京生まれ。幼少よりピアノを学び、小学校ではブラスバンドでフレンチホルンを担当。中学の吹奏楽部でトランペットに転向し、全国大会のコンテストにて優秀賞を受賞するなど、早くから頭角を現す。
早稲田大学入学と同時に同大学の音楽サークルに所属し、ジャズに本格的に傾倒。卒業後、トランペットを牧原正洋氏に、ジャズ理論を土岐英史氏に師事し、都内ライブハウスを中心に演奏活動を開始する。
自身のカルテットを軸に活動するほか、タモリ主催のヨットレース「タモリカップ」をきっかけに結成されたバンド「マリンセーラーズ」ではリーダーを務める。
2015年12月、デビューアルバム『PASSION』をリリース。2016年には目黒ブルースアレイジャパンにてマンスリーライブを開催。六本木アルフィーをはじめとする老舗ジャズクラブで定期的にリーダーライブを行う。
2017年、ピアニスト田中菜緒子とのユニット「村田中」を結成し、アルバム『Selfie』を発表。全国的な支持を集め、2019年にはキング・レコードよりメジャーデビュー作『SCHOOL OF JAZZ』をリリース。
2020年より、歌手MISIAのバンドメンバーとして全国ツアーに参加。
2021年にはリーダー・カルテットによるアルバム『’Tis Love』をセルフプロデュースで発表し、丸の内コットンクラブにて発売記念ライブを開催。
2025年、自主レーベル第2作となる『In the Mood for Chet』をリリース。

Chihiro Murata – Trumpeter
Born in Tokyo, Chihiro Murata began studying piano at an early age. She played French horn in her elementary school brass band and later switched to trumpet in junior high school, where she quickly distinguished herself, receiving an Excellence Award at a national wind band competition.
Upon entering Waseda University, she joined the university’s music circle and immersed herself in jazz. After graduation, she studied trumpet with Masahiro Makihara and jazz theory with Hidefumi Toki, and began performing actively at jazz clubs throughout Tokyo.
In December 2015, she released her debut album PASSION. The following year, she held a monthly residency at Blues Alley Japan in Meguro and has since continued to present regular leader performances at renowned jazz venues such as Roppongi Alfie.
In 2017, she formed the duo Muratanaka with pianist Naoko Tanaka and released the album Selfie, gaining widespread recognition across Japan. In August 2019, the duo released School of Jazz, their first major-label album, through King Records.
Since February 2020, Chihiro has been a member of singer MISIA’s band, participating in national concert tours.
In 2021, she self-produced and released ’Tis Love, an album by her leader quartet, and held a release concert at Cotton Club Tokyo.
In 2025, she released In the Mood for Chet, the second album on her independent label.
